Love

February is the month when we align with love by celebrating romance, but for me its potency is also found in simply beholding beauty—and creating it—even in the smallest ways. The power of beauty, and the love it holds, comes when I bring a vase of fresh roses to my daughter Savanna’s bedroom, or take an extra moment with our family’s meal to make everything just so, and especially in the early morning, drinking in the pure beauty of the sun’s first light. As some of you might know, I’m a devoted early riser, and I’m often blessed in return with visions like the one above, a photo I took at dawn on the outer islands of the Bahamas, our family’s second home.

All of these simple gestures serve to open and heal the heart, a movement so perfectly supported by pure essence of Rose.
