Often, Helya joins Tammy in the treatment room, offering Reflexology while Tammy performs her Signature Facial treatment, using sacred medicinal plants to purify and realign the whole being at the crown chakra. “On a physical level, not only are we creating a deep relaxation, we are also stimulating the lymphatic system, which helps detoxify and rebalance the body,” says Tammy, who has worked in tandem with Helya for over 20 years.
But, while Helya’s expertise is vast, she’s quick to point out that anyone can benefit by activating Reflexology points with massage at home. “You can’t do it wrong. Simply take a foot into your hand—women need it. Children. Men, too,” she says. “Twirl around the ankle and include the big toe.”
Helya also recommends walking barefoot as often as possible, and exploring pressure points by pressing your bare feet against the floor. “Hold the wall for balance and rock the body side to side, feeling the sensation in the soles. Wherever it’s sensitive, that’s where you focus,” she says. “Go up on your toes. Rock back onto your heel. Roll the feet in synchronicity. You can always sneak in this small moment of self-care, even if you just roll your feet as you walk across the room.”
