Q: How can I restore summer weary skin?
TAMMY WRITES: Let’s fill the end of summer with every kind of delight. This time of year awakens the senses, with travel, fresh flavors, the dreamy scent of flowers in bloom. It feels so good to amplify the exuberance, taking time to savor the beauty, and to drink in all the benefits of the season.
My late summer routine brings all this energetic bloom to the skin through our two treatment masks, each full of incredible floral remedies. Restorative Radiance Masque, with Lotus, Baobab, Jasmine and Rose, encourages rejuvenation, lavishing the complexion with essential nutrients to renew skin’s luminosity. Purifying Luculent Masque, with detoxifying Fo-Ti and Great Burdock, helps clarify the skin, renewing its strength.
Here are a few tips, based on our Spa protocols, which can help maximize the radiant effects of each treatment mask.
- Cool it down. Try chilling your treatment mask in a marble bowl before use. If you use a quartz roller, refrigerate it, too, and bring calm to the skin before your mask application.
- Spritz to reactivate. During a longer application, you might spritz with a floral tonic, reactivating your mask after 10 minutes and massaging it into the skin. Spritz Bulgarian Rose Water over Restorative Radiance Masque and pair Essential C Tonic with Purifying Luculent Masque.
- Alternate with heat. In the treatment room we alternate heat and cold to stimulate circulation, which can help the skin better absorb benefits. Use a warm towel to remove your mask.
- Revitalize the hands. Applying a thick layer to the backs of the hands can help restore tone.
- Delight the décolleté. Prepare the skin with gentle body brushing, then apply your mask. The effects are astonishing.
