As we move closer to the autumnal equinox on September 22nd, we begin to return to the comfortable rhythms that summer weather and travel can so often (even pleasantly) disrupt. At the equinox, the Earth is tilted neither toward nor away from the sun, resulting in nearly equal day and night. I like to take this as inspiration to pause for a moment and re-establish equilibrium. For me, that can mean anything from resetting energetically with grounding practices such as meditation to recalibrating my skincare routine in preparation for the cooler months to come. Here are some of my favorite ways to gently ease into fall.
{TAKE TIME TO REMEMBER}
Walking outside and observing the way that nature is beginning to wind down for a rest helps me feel in tune with the season. It’s an ideal time for reflection, and for a return to soothing self-care rituals.
{PRIORITIZE SLEEP}
The transition into fall can send our sleep patterns out of kilter. The scent of lavender has been known to summon slumber for centuries, and I find nothing more soothing than applying Bulgarian Lavender Body Oil after a warm evening bath.
